Reynolds, Eric T

Entry updated 29 April 2024. Tagged: Author, Editor, Publisher.

(1956-    ) US anthologist, publisher and author, perhaps best known for a succession of Anthologies, beginning with Golden Age SF: Tales of a Bygone Future (anth 2006), which usefully transact the deep repertoire of Genre SF, mixing old and new material. The Ruins sequence of Original Anthologies beginning with Ruins Terra (anth 2007) provides an extensive conspectus. Of Reynolds's novels, the third, The Lost Town of Garrison (2023), is of sf interest: a woman from the present arrives via Time Travel in 1937 Kansas, in the town of Garrison, about to be drowned through the construction of a dam. Different perspectives on the environmental consequences (see Ecology) of actions that in the 1930s may have seemed unquestionable are offered. [JC]
