(1940-2020) UK actor, playwright, mostly for Radio from the mid-1970s, and author. Several of his 38 radio plays are sf, including a BBC Radio 4 trilogy comprising Before the Screaming Begins (1978), The Silent Scream (1979) and With a Whimper to the Grave (1984). A novel of sf interest is a Doctor Who tie, Doctor Who: The Missing Episodes: The Ultimate Evil (1989). This was based on scripts originally written for the programme's aborted 1985-1986 season.
