(1949-2022) US fan (active in various APAs), journalist, reviewer, editor and author who was senior editor at Bantam Spectra from 1992 to 1997, acquiring both non-sf and sf titles, the latter including Star Wars franchise ties. With Jennifer Hershey and Janna Silverstein he edited Full Spectrum 5 (anth 1995) in the Full Spectrum sequence, which won a Locus Award for best Anthology. Later in his career he was an executive editor at HarperCollins US.
Dupree also published about a dozen short genre stories beginning with "The Wild Bunch" in Realms of Magic (anth 1995) edited by J Robert King and Brian Thomsen, an Anthology tied to the Role Playing Game Forgotten Realms; one later tale appeared as by Randall G Thomas. [DRL]
