Germano, Peter B

Entry updated 9 January 2023. Tagged: Author.

Working name of US author and television scriptwriter Pietro Baptisto Germano (1913-1983), who began to publish work of genre interest with "The Lost Planet" as by Barry Cord for Thrilling Wonder Stories in March 1941. Most of his books were Westerns [not listed below] as by Cord and also under the further pseudonyms James Kane, Jim Kane and Jack Slade. His only sf novels are the unremarkable The Pyramids from Space (1970) and The Interplanetary Adventurers (1970), both as by Jack Bertin; Germano was executor of Bertin's estate and wrote the books under that name. In The Pyramids from Space, the titular pyramids arrive on Earth and some of those who enter them are transported to a Planetary Romance venue, home of Aliens with plans for Earth Invasion; adventures ensue.

This author's prolific work for Television, as Peter Germano with no middle initial, included scripts for Battle of the Planets, Land of the Lost (1974-1977), The Time Tunnel (1966-1967), Valley of the Dinosaurs (1974) and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964-1968). [DRL]
