(1975-    ) Norwegian screenwriter and author, whose first novel, the Young Adult Over grensen ["Across the Border"] (2012) was nonfantastic. She is of interest for the Klimakvartetten ["Climate Quartet"] series beginning with Bienes historie (2015; trans Diane Oatley as The History of Bees 2017) and followed by Blå ["Blue"] (2017; trans Diane Oatley as The End of the Ocean 2019) and Przewalskis hest ["Przewalski's Horse"] (2019; trans Diane Oatley as The Last Wild Horses 2022), which focuses intensely on Ecological cruces, like the ongoing extermination of bees and its consequences, or the radical impoverishment of the oceans of the world, with the overall crisis of Climate Change framing the enterprise as the tale moves onward into the Near Future. An ongoing thrust towards possible solutions is warm-hearted. [JC]
