Pseudonym of an unidentified female US author (? - ) whose first novel, Nocturne (2005), is set on a colony planet (see Colonization of Other Worlds) whose synchronous orbit, which restricts settlements to polders and Keeps along the terminator division, is inimically matched by the rigidly hierarchical structure of the society that has evolved; this is exacerbated by Nocturne's great distance from Earth, which can only be traversed by Generation Starship.
