Peper, Eliot
Entry updated 12 September 2022. Tagged: Author.
(? - ) US consultant and author whose early, very Near Future thrillers, such as the Uncommon Stock series beginning with Uncommon Stock: Version 1.0 (2014), pit disrupter start-ups against established high-Technology firms, with much at stake. The female protagonist of Uncommon Stock fights her way through fraud and physical danger, winning a fortune in the end. Peper is of stronger sf interest in his second series, the Analog sequence beginning with Bandwidth (2018), whose protagonist, a consultant in the field of disaster capitalism, encounters physical and moral dilemmas in a California set alight through Climate Change.
