(1952- ) US author who began to publish work of genre interest with "The Flavor of Fire" in Analog for September 1998, which was the first of her Ray and Rokey series, assembled as Have Starship, Will Travel (coll of linked stories 2000), Starship for Hire (coll of linked stories 2001) and A Chance to Remember (2003). featuring the interstellar Space Opera adventures of Ray (a starpilot who dislikes planets) and Rokey (a scholar). Many Alien civilizations are encountered. Situations are entered into which require clever footwork to escape. A singleton, Three Princes (2014) is an Alternate History tale set in a nineteenth century still dominated by the surviving Egyptian and Mayan empires. No Jonbar Point is suggested. The ambience is Steampunk, with Airships. [JC]
