(1953- ) US author whose first novel, the Young Adult Surviving Antarctica: Reality TV 2083 (2005; vt No Child's Game: Reality TV 2083 2006), features the adventures of two teenagers give the chance to re-enact, as a reality Television show, Captain Robert Falcon Scott's prolonged and ultimately fatal Terra Nova Expedition to the Antarctic, 1910-1913. The Upcity Chronicles series beginning with Windows on the World (2011), which is also set in 2083, introduces its young protagonist to a Time Viewer that is meant to be used educationally, though subject to corruption. No further instalments have appeared, nor does the Vampeire sequence beginning with The Debutante (2011) seem to have been continued. [JC]
