Entry updated 26 January 2026. Tagged: Author.
(1957- ) Australian author who began to publish work of genre interest with Runestone (2002), opening the Viking Magic historical Fantasy trilogy written for a Young Adult audience. Prisoner of Quentaris (2006) is a contribution to the Quentaris Chronicles Shared World; for other titles see the entry for Paul Collins. Of direct sf interest is the Children's SF The Boy Who Stepped Through Time (2021), a Timeslip tale whose young modern protagonist visits the ruin of a Roman villa in France and slips back 1700 years to the Roman era, there having to work as a Slave in that villa. The historical and archaeological background is thoroughly researched; the boy faces or seems to face a difficult choice between returning to his own time and saving the life of a new friend who is his Roman master's daughter.
