(1956-    ) US author who began to publish work of genre interest with "At the Sign of the Brass Breast" (in Swords Against Darkness IV, anth 1979, edited by Andrew J Offutt), though in his full length work he focused almost exclusively of Ties, including the Concordat sequence, beginning with Not in our Stars (1984) and ending with The Praesidium of Archive (1985), plus the Tales of the Concordat, beginning with The Empire's Legacy (1988) and ending with Revolt and Rebirth (1988), both linked series being Space Operas tied to a Role Playing Game. Warsprite (1990) is a somewhat jumbled sf novel featuring Robots in a future Wyoming; and Web of Futures (1991) is a somewhat more ambitious Time Travel fantasy. [JC]
