(? - ) US author who also writes under her married name Rachel Bach, her husband and occasional collaborator being Travis Bach (? - ), and who initially became known for the Legend of Eli Monpress fantasy sequence beginning with The Spirit Thief (2010). Her first work of sf interest was the Paradox series – comprising Fortune's Pawn (2013), Honor's Knight (2014) and Heaven's Queen (2014), all as by Rachel Bach – a Space Opera sequence whose tough female protagonist becomes a significant figure in various Military SF conflagrations, while fighting a killer virus whose effect upon her may be empowering. The romance elements are controlled.
The Heartstrikers sequence opening with Nice Dragons Finish Last (2014) is Urban Fantasy [see The Encyclopedia of Fantasy under links below] revolving around dragons (see Supernatural Creatures), some in human form. Garrison Girl (2018) is a Tie to the Manga franchise Attack on Titan, set in a Post-Holocaust future in which humanity has been largely wiped out by the man-eating giants known as Titans (see Great and Small), with survivors living in embattled Keeps. Forever Fantasy Online (2018) with Travis Bach opens a planned trilogy with the same overall title, whose Young Adult protagonists find themselves trapped in a "real" (perhaps Virtual Reality) and increasingly dangerous version of their favourite fantasy Videogame.
