US letter-size saddle-stapled Cinema magazine. Publisher: Charlton Comics. Editor: Roger Elwood. Three bimonthly issues, July to November 1981.

A final attempt by Charlton at a Monster Movies magazine, this title covered such films of the period as Clash of the Titans (1981), Escape from New York (1981) and Venom (1981). It differed from most such publications in that each issue also carried several short horror stories; despite Elwood's conservative Christian bias, some interesting material was published. Fiction appeared from Steve Vance and George Zebrowski, the latter having a story in every issue. Perhaps the most notable fiction was "The Witch of the Marsh" (in Diogenes in London, coll 1893) by H B Marriott Watson, reprinted in #2. Charlton was already experiencing distribution problems as the company neared the end of its existence, and as a result this magazine is now difficult to locate. [GSt]
