(1940-2024) UK author who began to publish work of genre interest with the Scorpion series comprising Scorpion (1981) and Scorpion: Second Generation (1982), both Horror in SF tales featuring Mutant Monster scorpions.
Of greater sf interest is the Cade sequence of Near Future police procedurals, beginning with Cade #1: Darksiders (1992) as Mike Linaker; these tales are set primarily in New York, though Cade and his Cyborg sidekick find their investigations taking them to an Asteroid mining colony in the first instalment.
All Linaker's novels in the Checklist below were reissued in the twenty-first century under the new byline Neil Hunter. [JC/DRL]
